What people are saying.
-
Q: What did your organization not consider when going through the strategic planning selection process, but, in retrospect, wish you did?
A: “Actually, I wish we’d been a little braver. I think we felt “stuck” going into the planning sessions. That was our issue, and one Jenny tried to push us out of. If we would have known how much growth was ahead of us in the three years, we may have had greater confidence.”
-
Q: Did Jenny utilize any external resources, relationships, or networks during the process? If so, did you find it helpful?
A: “Some of the most helpful resources were about established models for operating. After evaluating our mission, time, and resources, we embraced the fact that we were “heartfelt connectors.” Meaning, we had to commit to more events, gatherings, get-togethers, communication, etc. That was a game-changer. Jenny connected us with experts in budgeting and other expert areas.”
-
Q: How would you describe Jenny's style when facilitating or leading your team through the strategic planning process?
A: “Jenny was patient and kind, always reminding us of guiding principles and data to inform our conversations. Her broader perspective of the nonprofit sector was very valuable. She was firm in pushing us out of our old ways of thinking while giving us reason to be confident.”
-
Q: Was the consultant able to facilitate participation/comments/feedback from all? And were they able to manage over-talkers and topic monopolizers?
A: “Yes, our small team had a mix of shy folks and bold folks. Jenny gracefully ensured everyone’s voice was heard, all the while pushing us to imagine our organization’s fullest potential – which reminded us why we were there.”
-
Q: Did you feel like enough time was allocated by Jenny when conducting the various phases of the planning process?
A: “Yes, Jenny went above and beyond.”
